The love of invention never dies.

Karl Benz was born on November 25, 1844 in Karlsruhe. His father died in July 1846. Despite living with limited financial means, his mother did her best for her child’s education in high schools. He later continued his studies in mechanical engineering. The young engineer quickly turned from a locksmith to a designer and workshop foreman. In 1871, Karl Benz joined the forces of the “mechanic” August Ritter to establish his first company, “Karl Benz and August Ritter, Engineering Workshop” in Mannheim. But with Ritter’s trickery and embezzlement as a non-partner, Carl Benz is forced to use his wife’s dowry, Berta Ringer, to pay all the damages caused by Ritter and run the company alone. Since 1878, Karl Benz has been focusing on the development of the two-stroke gas engine to realize his dream of creating a “horseless car”. After long and painstaking efforts, the engine was started for the first time on New Year’s Eve in 1879. In October 1882, he founded (Mannheim Gas Engine Factory) as a joint stock company. Benz left the company in January 1883 and joined his new business partners Max Rose and Friedrich Wilhelm Schlinger. They founded Benz & Cie. Rheinische Gasmotoren-Fabrik Mannheim (Benz & Co. Rhine Gas Engine Factory Mannheim) and launched the two-stroke engine “System Benz”. to implement his car manufacturing, his business partners are pessimistic about the result. Karl Benz was once again faced with finding new investors. Julius Gans and Friedrich von Fischer became his new partners in May 1890. The combined business model of stationary engine and car production It was successful. But Benz wanted to focus exclusively on vehicles, so he founded the company Carl Benz Söhne (Carl Benz and Sons) in Ladenburg in 1906. In 1912, Carl Benz resigned as managing director. The agent resigned and left sole management control to his sons. He saw the rise of motor engineering and the implementation of his ideas. The pioneer of automobile manufacturing (Karl Benz) died on April 4, 1929 at his home in Ladenburg.
